later on sunday
wandered into the pub to find
myki,
samharber,
ghostbritain,
foul_temptress,
batelf, Karl, and later
richc,
ajon,
maddam,
psion_x and a guy called Jeff. or Geoff. i don't know.
i was ridiculously excited to be in the presence of people called Nanook and Nevenka aka Nook & Nev. how exciting! names are so great. we played 'i have never' and much hilarity ensued. what nice people.
then we headed down to the Cornerhouse to play Uncle Roy All Around You. HOW BIZARRE! we had a little palm thing with a map and had to follow clues around the streets. i ended up going round with Sam. which was nice because he is nice. we got to ride in a limo and agreed to help some random person for 12 months with advice and stuff. hmmmm i say. i hope my random person is nice. i sent them a postcard and await their email. to be honest i was a bit lame at it, as i did not record a single voice message for online players. but i am shy!
then a bit more drinking and we hopped on a train to Bolton, picked up some takeaway and wandered home. well, i wandered to
myki's house. erm, then we went to bed. :)
monday
lounged, as one does on a bank holiday. i was not too disturbed by Mikey's bathroom. the shower even functioned well! we wandered over to Rich and Al's for a bbq which included sun, hail, rain and ewwwwy meat products. plus Sam, Nook, Nev,
pkgem, and some boys called Paul and Marcus. all was well and i was happy. then Gemma drove me to the station where i started the long train journey home. thank you nice Gemma.
trains were pretty sucky but tolerable. i am reading a VERY exciting book called Supernature by Lyall Watson. even though it was written in 1970 it's still fab. it's about how science can explain weird stuff like razors sharpening themselves if you put them in pyramids, and relationships between life and the solar system. it's so great!! i love science. i cannot wait for my first edition of New Scientist to come! mmmm science.

* - This has nothing to do with my plan to rule the world by having an entire crew of attractive ladies. But dammit it’ll work!

I don't know how reliable the information in there is - I expect a lot of it has been debunked or is based on one fluke study - but it does make you feel like the world is a very cool place.
My favourite experiment in the book (at least, the one I remember most) was the one about wiring up a plant to a lie detector & how it not only spiked when its own leaves were burned, but when a plant nearby had its leaves burned, or even when they boiled a live prawn near it.
