terrible injury

OUCH!

my street has no lights. this evening when i was walking to Jo's to watch Angel i had a bit of an accident. a woman was walking the other way, carrying a torch and i was thinking 'oh, it is rather dark round here, but i'm always ok'.

then i was thinking 'wow it's cold but the stars look really pretty tonight'.

then i tripped over the curb and went flying and landed on my right knee and both my hands. i have a huge graze and swollen lump on my knee and two grazed hands. ow ow.

Jo gave me Maltesers and cake and a cup of tea to make me better. and we watched two episodes of Angel but are still behind.


and the monitor is still in japanese so am using old one (and have finally been able to reconnect to the net - obviously). but tomorrow monitor is going up to manchester so hopefully Dad can get a new one soon. i need to make CDs for emomisy and mslazarus.

Awww...

When I read the entry at first I thought, "Why was she carrying a torch? Was she going to burn something?" Then I realized that British English is different from American English, and I felt silly.
*resolves to learn all variants of the English language*

i have a recipe book that puts everything in brit and american english. so i could do that with my journal. she was carrying a torch (flashlight) along the pavement (sidewalk)...
