brrr my feet are chilly

i had a superbly nice weekend.

friday

half day at work. Mum drove up to Manchester. i slept all the way - go me! i blame Guy Gavriel Kay's 'A Song For Arbonne'. it has to be the most soporific book ever. i keep reading two pages then falling asleep. its chapters are too long! was dropped at Sale station and got the rather pricy metro into the city. pootled and met [livejournal.com profile] angelfire_75 at Picadilly Gardens and got the bus back to hers.

went for curry with her housemate Chris and [livejournal.com profile] gambit87. who both had QUAIL! i was distressed. the curry house also sold sweets, so we bought some. yum. the pinkgreenyellow ones were my favourite. we then went to the Rampant Lion for drinks and met Ickle Gareth and Big Bad Jon. came home and played Trivial Pusuit, at which i whupped everyone's butts. it did take me ages to get orange though, so they chose orange for me in the middle. then came the freaky bit... i said "but the category is sport and leisure - i might get a question about a board game like Monopoly or something."
Rick asks: "which board game is banned in Russia?"
me: "Monopoly?"
would you believe it!!! then i had an argument with Big Bad Jon because he said The Big Dipper is not the same as Ursa Major. he is so wrong. silly boy.
then we went to bed. oh yeah. and i snogged Gareth. but i was very well behaved apart from that.

saturday

got up. which was an effort. went into town with Maria. pootled about. met Gareth again and had lunch in Cafe Pop which i reckon [livejournal.com profile] queennell would like because it has a nifty music shop and cool retro clothes and a cafe that serves much bacon! had supernice veggie burrito. then i went to get the train to Newton-le-Willows TO SEE JUSTINE!

she met me at the station, and had just come from kung fu. bless. ahhh she's so cute. we walked to her and Ian's house which is SO NICE. her attic is so nifty. she showed me round and gave me fizzy Vimto and we chatted and chatted. i always forget how chatty she is. she showed me a video of her training (cos i asked) and we watched Evanescence at Rock Am Ring (or maybe it was Rock Im Park - i forget) and some of the Bif Naked dvd. and we got pizza when Ian came home from work. he is nice. i'm glad she's happy with him. she's so cute! and huggy. mmmmmmm. nice. then they walked me back to the station. i got on the train and burst into tears.

i think the time she visited in Birmingham when i cried for about 6 hours straight after she left has made such a strong memory that all 'leaving Justine' situations now cause me to cry, even if i'm not actually that sad. in June i had to pay 20p so i could go cry in the Manchester Picadilly toilets! but it's ok. i guess the link in my brain might eventually fade. or whatever they do. i'm a crap biologist aren't i.

ANYWAY, got back and got bus back down Wilmslow Road and met Maria and Chris at Blockbusters. i wanted GhostWorld or Blow. neither of which they had so we got Chocolat. which i really liked. Victoire Thivisol especially rocks my socks. her english is so good! bless. Johnny was cute. not half as cute as Cap'n Jack though.

sunday
Maria went out hiking, but Rick came over and we slept on the sofa for a bit. then he drove me to my Gran's! where i helped Dad put up Christmas lights and drank Ribena. then we went for lunch with Grandad at The Barn Owl near Lymm. was supernice. i had mushroom stroganof and shared orange&rhubarb pudding with Mum.

slept all the way home! well except for the time it took me to read 3 pages of the book. which made me sleeeepy.

next week i need to call Ruth, [livejournal.com profile] kookie21 and [livejournal.com profile] tamsanger. but i also am going to BodyPump, seeing Oysterband, going to [livejournal.com profile] olinima's house and going away for the weekend of fun things.

the crying will probably eventually fade into "oh, it was so nice to see them". Particularly if you prod it in that direction now and again.

[identity profile] kmazzy.livejournal.com 2003-12-07 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
that's my problem. i don't prod it in that direction. i almost encourage it because i'm stupidly nostalgic. because what i felt nearly 4 years ago was so strong that i like to remember that i COULD feel like that.

Ah.

*is not sure what to say*

*winces*

Glad you had a top weekend :+)

*big cuddles* for the crying, I know what you mean about not wanting to prod in the right direction, some times feeling bad seems better than not feeling at all. The world seems so gray somedays.

oh yeah and for the record Ursa major is a star and the bigdipper is a constellation
