i was distressed when the breakfast girly tried to give me a plate of ham, salami and cheese at breakfast and said i didn't want any. so i ate some dry bread and had very strong coffee.

today was supposed to be Andrew's day of choosing what we'd do, but we all walked together to the city centre and split up once we'd got maps.

we went to the Mucha museum, where we watched a spiffy video and saw lots of painting. very nice. then walked up to the National museum. it had an enormous collection of rocks. over 10,000 rocks in fact. that was a bit dull. there were no labels in english so the anthropology section was ok but difficult to appreciate. however the zoology section was fabulous. it made me feel like a zoologist again! basically it was loads of stuffed animals and birds and fish. that wibbled me a bit but it was just too fascinating. H&A got very bored because i had to look at every single thing. they had a Moa! and PANGOLINS! i got all excited and had to write down names of some of the animals so i can do further study on them. i could have stayed the rest of the afternoon but by then it was about 2.30pm and we were hungry.

embarrassingly we were hungry enough to go to Rocky O'Reilly's irish pub for lunch. oh the shame. afterwards we went to and were amused by the Astronomical Clock which is really quite lame. and also wrong since it was made when people thought the Sun revolved around the Earth. we wandered some more and went in a superb shop selling armour and weapons where i bought a present for Mr Shiny. then we got a tram to the Sparta Prague football ground. we nearly got tickets for the game against Chelsea but since we couldn't get three together we decided not to bother.

instead we went back to the hotel and found Mum and Dad and went to watch the game in the sports bar round the corner. i stayed with Dad and Gus til past midnight and was rather drunk on 4 pints (half litres) and a becherovka since i hadn't had any dinner. bargainously cheap drinks though.

when we got back to the hotel Helen told us off because Gus was rattling his loose change and i had picked up the bedside lamp (i have no idea why) and was having trouble putting it down because there were other things on the bedside table and i was rattling it.
