it looks like darkness to me

oh oh OH!

i don't care what anyone says, Counting Crows are a totally kickass band. they fill my heart. i was going to put some lyrics here until i realised i could quote so many it'd get ridiculous.

friday
left work at 12.30 and slept/read through the long (lots of traffic) drive to Manchester. when we got to my Gran's we had chinese (not as good as the Jade Garden) and then went to the pub with my uncle and aunt. £1.24 a pint - excellent. i had a terrible incident with a forgotten cadbury's creme egg melting in the front pocket of my hoodie. all over my gloves, keys, phone... oops.
i had to sleep on the floor under two towels cos i had forgotten to bring a sleeping bag. silly me.

saturday
had a fruitless trip to shops to try to get a printer, mousemat and freeserve disk. the computer is so old it has no USB ports, so i was confused about cables. tried to show my gran how to do stuff on the computer and was frustrated when instead of the shift key she decided she would use the caps lock to write caps - putting it on for one letter then taking it off. ARGH!

then went for lunch at the Barn Owl with Gran and Grandad. very tasty. then Grandad drove Gus and i up to near [livejournal.com profile] angelfire_75's. she was still coming back from the student union or something so we met her in the Rampant Lion. after some Fluxx playing and in my bro's case some rugby watching we walked up the road to the Apollo, to see Counting Crows.

it was an AMAZING gig. apart from an incessantly snogging couple in front of me, who irritated me. they played for nearly 2 hours. Adam is such a cutie. really very much so. Omaha was superb. and Miami. well, everything of course. Adam was totally charming and endearing and Holiday In Spain was an adorably cute way to close. the gig filled me so full of love.

walked back to Maria's for Baileys and chat and [livejournal.com profile] psion_x came over. we watched Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back - YAY ELIZA! then bedtime. at 2.30. oh weariness.

sunday
dragged myself out of bed (Maria's new bed is supercomfortable) for a cup of tea before going in to Picadilly to send Gus off on the metro to meet Gran again for lunch. i met [livejournal.com profile] gambit87 in Wetherspoons for a pint then we went to Urbis - some gallery thing. i was very VERY taken with art by Lucy McLauchlan (http://www.beat13.co.uk/lucy/index.htm) and i wish to buy something of hers. only now do i find she has shop at Custard Factory - why did i not find this out before i was in Brum - oh woe!

then we went to Sinclair's for a few more pints. and back to Wetherspoons for... yes, more pints (and some nachos). had a shockingly bad train journey home. most of which was spent sitting in the vestibule, except for 30 minutes between Manc and Brum where the woman said i could sit in Club Class - woo.

Ben texted me saying he wanted some nuts, so i wandered about in the freezing cold and finally in the third petrol station i tried i found some and took them over to his. but i could only stay five minutes as Mum wouldn't pick me up after 10pm and it was way too chilly to walk home.

then i went to bed but didn't sleep for ages as i was writing my diary and receating saturday night as best i could by listening to Live:Across A Wire (blue).

Uncanny... Saw them on Friday at the Apollo in Manchester...

Me, Nikki and Martin (that's all ther trouserless cats minute Neil) thought it both the bee's knees and the Csts trouserless pyjammas.

Best live band I've seen in years.

Did you guys see Josh Ritter? Kick ass so he was..
