here is my first attempt at casting. (most of it copied from very cunning suggestions by Liz.)

if anyone wants to change any part please let me know!
also if anyone finds they're speaking to themselves at any point please also let me know. i'm not feeling 100% in the brain department at present so might have missed something.

i have this as an excel spreadsheet which i will email to everyone. it's easier to see which characters appear when etc.

  • [livejournal.com profile] ixwin: Woman, Witch, Piglet, Guard/Sentry #1, Crone, Brother Maynard

  • [livejournal.com profile] kmazzy: Villager #3, Historian, Zoot/Dingo, Bride's Father

    does anyone have any coconuts?

there are some scenes i want to cut out but i'll let everyone know nearer the time or maybe on the day. (mainly scenes with animation or some singing - the Launcelot/guests scene is pretty messy.)

ELLY - you are obviously happy to sing the Brave Sir Robin song.
EVERYONE ELSE - would you like to sing the Camelot song?

a reminder of the most helpful website:

meh. tired. Elly & Liz - if you have time can you look over everything and point out other things i should be thinking about? thank you!

Gah, you've made me sing now!

    Pie Jesu domine

    *THUNK*

    dona eis requiem

    *THUNK*

Okay, I'm done now. *staggers off with sore head*

Was going to raise these points via e-mail (& probably will anyway for those who check that more often than lj) but I'll put them here while I remember

    - Probably need to let people know before the day what's going to be cut. I agree we can ignore the animations entirely (well except for the purple beastie...Hmmm - maybe Eliott can play that role...?)

    - If we do have the Camelot song would [livejournal.com profile] purplepiano (or anyone else who offers) be willing to accompany it? - we have a piano

    - Could people print off their own copies of the scripts if at all possible - I'll be able to do a few if necessary but our printer wouldn't thank me for 11 copies.

    - Coconuts! I'll try to get one set but yes if anyone else can, please bring.

    - I think I'll get a couple of cheapo plastic swords too, so that we can (briefly) act out various scenes (esp. the black & green knight)

On another topic, there's a Christmas tree festival at the church in the next road that weekend that we usually go to (just lots of decorated trees by e.g. Brownies, and local charities and shops and individuals) and so I was wondering if the party would be interested in wandering down to see that in between the end of the readthrough and the meal.

I thought if we try to kick off the readthrough around 3pm, and then plan to start eating around 6 or 6:30? Will that suit everyone? Is anyone in need of additional directions/transport help of any sort?

That's all I can think of for now.

Just looking through, some parts seem to be missing:

    Patsy

Voice (Could easily be classed as the narrator), Director (also from killing historian scene)

    Cartoon Character, Sun

All supporting Castle Anthrax members (other than Zoot, Dingo and Piglet)- and which version of that scene do we want?

    Princess Lucky

    [identity profile] kmazzy.livejournal.com 2003-12-01 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
does Patsy actually say anything? (must rewatch dvd.)

meh. will look at this tomorrow i think. am too tired now.

thank you for taking the time to look though!

    [identity profile] kmazzy.livejournal.com 2003-12-01 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
i will try to email people tomorrow. unless you'd like me to send the spreadsheet to you? my hotmail is being all weird and that's where i have the group listed. *pouts*

    i'd love to see trees!

    *flops*

"it's only a model"- all of one line.

    [identity profile] neonchameleon.livejournal.com 2003-12-01 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Could I have a lift from [livejournal.com profile] purplepiano/[livejournal.com profile] gnimmel please? (Assuming you two plan to set off from Bedford)

    [identity profile] ashfae.livejournal.com 2003-12-01 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
*dumps a bucket of ice on your head, just to be helpful*

We got to watch Holy Grail in Latin class one day, on the condition that we translate that sentence. *gryn*

    [identity profile] ashfae.livejournal.com 2003-12-01 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I am still envious. I'm going to pout in your lj now.

    *pouts*

    [identity profile] kmazzy.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
    pout away young lady!

    *smirks*

Replying to this and Liz's comment...

    [identity profile] mirabehn.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
    *approves enthusiastically*

    Oh, that is wonderful!!!! :D

I obviously want the fullest version of the Castle Anthrax scene so that I have everyone demanding to be spanked by me. *evilness*

Also can I make a request that the animated bit that announces them having to eat Robin's Minstrel stays in?

Will print out a copy as long as my printer/print driver hasn't died by then...

Am happy to sing as much as possible, provided my voice has come back!

Will try to bring a coconut, plus possibly plastic swords (and a crown for Nick).

Should we try to have little choral music effects where required? I wonder if Chris, Lynnette, Andrew, Nick and myself could work out a wee chord progression or something?

Yay! to the Christmas tree festival at Holy Saviour. I'll have to find out if FoR/Christian CND did one this year!

Oh, and another thing - in addition to Nick and myself, my parents are happy to put up Kathryn and perhaps one other guest. Let me know, anyone, if this would be helpful. (My parents live in Hitchin, about 5-10 minutes walk from Liz and Matt's house, for those who don't know.)

Talking of, Kathryn please remember to take your allergy pills, and I'll try to remember to ensure that Caspian and Miranda are kept out of wherever you'll be sleeping. :)

    Love and hugs to all,

    Elly

    *agrees*

There are quite a lot of Castle Anthrax characters, thinking about it.

And Patsy could be in charge of Arthur's coconuts, of course. :)

    [identity profile] gnimmel.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Alas, we are purely train-travelling beings (neither of us drive) :/

    [identity profile] purplepiano.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
I'm happy to play piano for that or anything else. Do you want the theme music as well?

    [identity profile] randomchris.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Bbbbrrr!!! I think I preferred the kisses *looks hopeful*

    [identity profile] kmazzy.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
oh yeah - on my spreadsheet it says 'Patsy = whoever wants to play with coconuts'...

will try to look at it some more tonight if i'm still alive after cycling home from yoga.

    [identity profile] mirabehn.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
I like playing with coconuts!! :)

But I'm sure lots of other people do too and I do seem to have ended up with a startling selection of plum parts...

    [identity profile] mirabehn.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, and thinking about it I suspect that "It's only a model" comes very shortly after Sir Galahad's line.

    [identity profile] mirabehn.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
True. Plus it would be greedy. And everyone would make jokes about me playing with Nick's coconuts.

    [identity profile] mirabehn.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, indeed. Yes, best avoided then methinks.

    [identity profile] ashfae.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
    *glowers* *pouts some more*

    [identity profile] kmazzy.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
only cos you asked. ask and you shall receive. *hugs*

    [identity profile] ashfae.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
In someone else's livejournal? Certainly not.

And hmph, you think you preferred the kisses? A master of the left-handed compliment, you are. *gryn*

    [identity profile] kmazzy.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
    awww bless. *pets*

    [identity profile] ashfae.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
    Mrowr. *purrrrrr*

    [identity profile] neonchameleon.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
    D*mn! (And neither do I :/)

    http://www.stagecoachbus.com/dam/publib/publib/index_html?id=root_10_0_0_8

Bedford- Hitchin busses. (Suggestion: 181 at 1:30 getting to Hitchin at 2:30). According to the railtrack website, you can't reach Hitchin from less than Bedford in fewer than two changes, and the shortest trip takes an hour and a half.

Now, I don't have a clue what to do from the bus station...

    [identity profile] ixwin.livejournal.com 2003-12-02 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
Brilliant! Thanks! Elly has the music.

Not sure about anything else - will let you know.

    [identity profile] ixwin.livejournal.com 2003-12-04 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
    multimap to the rescue.

You'll most likely come in on Bancroft or Hermitage Road - if you do get lost, ring, or ask for directions to the station as, unless you're very lost that'll take you past the end of our road (one end or the other).
