the puzzle piece behind the couch

well today we managed to get up quite late! i was sleeping upstairs in mordor, which was fun. i think we had some lunch, hmmm, what was it. something nice. and then drove to Elly's parents' house in Hitchin. Elly & Nick's car has a terrible effect on me - it makes me fall asleep practically every time i'm in it. so i was shoddy company on the drive.

we had a very nice cup of tea and shortbread in the garden, and ate cherries until we wandered over to Liz and Matt's. there we saw a lot of people. so there was me, mirabehn, evil_nick, ixwin, vectorious, fluffymark, yvesilena, casby (who is soooooo cute), andrewwyld and maybe some other people who i've forgotten and a whole load of people without journals.

everyone was nice and we drank pimms and beer and nibbled a bit and chatted with nice people. although i did spend quite a lot of the time in the kitchen recycling things cos lots of people in one place overwhelms me (if i'm supposed to be mingling). it was very nice to see Yves and Casby (and Hooch). the wedding and honeymoon photos were gorgeous.

i was very happy apart from the fact that Helen rang to tell me the trains were on strike in france. which buggered my next day travel plans...

i slept very well in the cute bunk bed in one of the spare rooms in Elly's parents' house. (the one with all the children's books in - wooohooooo. do you think i was up all night reading Noggin The Nog books....? well... yes i was.)
